09 / Outcome and next

Ready to roll out, and still growing

Samanvay is with the QA team now. Here is what changes for every team, and what is still to come.

1 to 2
months from QA approval to every team
18
Ishangas who can offer themselves
5
roles in one app
4
rounds, Preview app to live

The first real numbers come once the scheduling team moves in: requests filled in the app, and replies given in the app instead of by phone.

a

The same work, now in one place

the older system beside the app
Before / overwhelming
  • Each request checked with Ishangas by hand, one call at a time
  • A Google sheet with a simple day-wise calendar for each request and Ishanga
  • Confirmations sent separately to the Ishanga and to the centre or requester
  • No way for an Ishanga to say they were not available, so a class or their own plans got cancelled
Now / in Samanvay
  • Request several Ishangas at once, and see every reply: Asked, Available, Can't, Waiting
  • A day-wise schedule inside the app, for every request and every Ishanga
  • The Ishanga is told in the app when they are confirmed
  • Ishangas mark their own away dates, so they are not requested on those days
b

Still to come

found while testing the live app, all in process now
In processPrivate feedback from mentors on an Ishanga, designed in every round
In processA timeline on each Ishanga's page, so their classes can be seen in one place
In processReminders sent on their own the next morning, so no one has to remember to send them
In processFree or busy beside each name on the Ishangas list, so a scheduler sees who is free before asking

What I take with me

Start from the seed. Every screen was checked against samanvay: does it connect the sequence, and does it spend less life energy, time, resources and money?
Agree in words, then draw. A list takes minutes to fix, screens take hours.
Polite words do real work. Offer, request, Namaskaram: asking for someone's time should read as an invitation, never an order.
