01 / The seed

Samanvay

समन्वय

18 Ishangas can offer themselves. One Google sheet. Many phone calls. An overwhelming system.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
How might a small team of volunteers bring every request, Ishanga and centre into one sequence, so every class of events gets all the resources, with the least spend of life energy, time, and money?

The older system

every step by hand
Request comes inManual checking with IshangasGoogle sheet: a day-wise calendar for each request and IshangaConfirmation to the Ishanga, and to the centre / requesterPOCsStay, etc.
Ishangas had no platform to inform that they were not available, so either the class or their own plans got cancelled.
The answer is in the name

Every screen in the app grows from these two principles, and so does this case study.

Principle 1

To achieve samanvay: synthesis, adjustment, a connected sequence of events, and synergy

A request, an Ishanga, a centre and a date are not separate things. They are one sequence, and the app holds them together.

Synthesismany parts, held as one picture
Adjustmentbend when plans change, never break
Sequenceconnect events in the right order
Synergytogether, more than the sum
Principle 2

Unified action towards organisational objectives, at the minimum cost

Cost here is never only money. It is four things, and the app is judged on all of them:
Life energythe calls, follow-ups and worry each class used to take
Timedays and steps between a request and a confirmed team
Resourcesevery Ishanga offered fairly, none left unasked
Moneyfewer late cancels, fewer rushed journeys

How the seed grew into the app

each principle, before and in Samanvay
Principle
The old way
In Samanvay
Synthesis
Calls, chats and a sheet, never one picture
Requests, Schedule and Reports read from one source
Adjustment
A change of plans meant a late cancel
Away dates, offers for some batches, Available before Confirmed
Sequence
Nobody knew which step a class was at
Requested, Asked, Available, Confirmed, Done, with history
Synergy
The same few asked, others waiting
Request several at once, every reply clear at a glance, one app for every team
Minimum cost
Life energy, time, resources and money spent on follow-ups
Fewer calls, replies in one line, the right Ishanga for each class

every page that follows is one of these two principles, made visible
